Lawrie Shabibi presents The Soil From Which We Came, Larry Amponsah's first solo exhibition in the UAE. Through collage, painting, and mixed media, Amponsah explores interconnectivity, contemporary Black culture, identity, politics, and history. The exhibition showcases large-scale paintings that combine cross-pollinated images, smaller collages, and traditional painting techniques, creating ethereal ecosystems. Additionally, Amponsah's portrait series and medium paper works delve into the complexities of identity and global Black narratives. The exhibition also features the sculpture Adam, embodying growth and triggering dialogues between disciplines.
