50 Golborne is pleased to present Afro-Tropism: Sculptural Furniture by Jean-Servais Somian & Ceramics by Astrid Dahl, on the occasion of the London Design Festival. Tropism is “the turning or bending movement of an organism or a part of an organism in a particular direction in response to an external stimulus such as light or gravity”.  Two artists/ designers based in Africa, Jean- Servais Somian from Ivory Coast and Astrid Dahl from South Africa explore Tropism in their work, drawing on the rich nature that characterizes their environment.
